Sports probiotic shows to reduce URTIs
Ecologic® PERFORMANCE, developed by Winclove Probiotics, is an innovative, first-in-class probiotic formulation, which has shown to reduce upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) in endurance athletes.
The probiotic formulation has been extensively researched in collaboration with Institut Allergosan, Medical University of Graz and Medical University of Innsbruck.
In two randomized, double-blinded, placebo controlled trials among athletes, Ecologic® PERFORMANCE has shown to significantly:
• Reduce the incidence of upper respiratory tract infections. Athletes in the probiotic group experienced a 2.2-fold decrease in URTI symptoms compared to the placebo group.
• Improve intestinal barrier function, which is associated with gastrointestinal complaints and susceptibility to infection
The results indicate that Ecologic® PERFORMANCE could support athletes during intense training periods.
