Chinese omega-3 supplier wins sustainable seal

Chinese omega-3 player KinOmega has won sustainability backing from Friends of the Sea.

Friend of the Sea gave its approval for its omega-3s sourced from tuna trimmings and Peruvian and European anchovy fisheries.

The backing came after the inspection verified that endangered species are not by-caught in the process and marine protected areas are respected.

“Our customers and omega-3 end consumers are concerned about the potential overexploitation of fish stocks and consequently they appreciate our efforts to source only from approved sustainable fisheries and trimmings,” said Daniel Zhang, KinOmega VP.
