Following a highly successful inaugural event in 2016, Food Vision Asia announces its return to the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Singapore, from April 25-27.

Working once again in close partnership with Food Industry Asia (FIA), Food Vision Asia will coincide with the FIA’s key 2017 events, creating an agenda-setting focal point for the food and nutrition industries across the region.

For the second year running, Food Vision Asia will kick-off following the FIA Annual General Meeting, with the FIA active in the programme throughout the three-day event. On the final day, 27 April, Food Vision Asia will be the 2017 location for the third edition of another FIA initiative, the Asia Roundtable on Food Innovation for Improved Nutrition (ARoFIIN).  Held annually since 2015, ARoFIIN brings senior delegates representing government, academia and industry from across Asia together to exchange views and plan initiatives to bring about health-enhancing initiatives in the region’s food industry.

The leaders of both FIA and ARoFIIN, as well as the ASEAN Food & Beverage Alliance (AFBA), are working closely with Food Vision Asia’s organisers to shape a 2017 conference agenda focused on innovation in health and nutrition.

“As their economies mature, Asian markets face particular challenges related to malnutrition, with increased polarisation between under and overfed populations,” says Gary Scattergood, Editor-in-Chief of FoodNavigator-Asia and NutraIngredients-Asia. “Our agenda will look at how governments and industry are innovating to improve people’s diets, their access to nutritious food and understanding of healthy food choices."

With innovation high on the agenda, Food Vision Asia is launching Trailblazers – a competition to identify the brightest and best entrepreneurial food industry start-ups in Asia.

“The competition is open to start-ups developing consumer food, drink and nutrition products,” says Vision Event's Margarete Baltay. “Those deemed the best be invited to present their story to our audience at Food Vision Asia 2017.”  Businesses interested in becoming a Trailblazer should contact Claudia Rhynes - Claudia.Rhynes@wrbm.com

In 2016, more than 160 industry leaders attended Food Vision Asia from 25 counties within and beyond Asia.  Those numbers are expected to grow in 2017, swelled in particular by members of FIA, AFBA and ARoFIIN, who recognise the opportunities Food Vision Asia offers to address growth opportunities in the Asian food industry.

Accelerate growth

Matt Kovac, Executive Director of FIA, said: “FIA welcomes the return of Food Vision Asia alongside our AGM and ARoFIIN roundtable. We believe, that Food Vision Asia offers our members a unique opportunity to discuss and also learn from industry experts, how we can collectively accelerate profitable and responsible growth in the region.  At the same time, we look forward to welcoming other Food Vision Asia delegates to our AGM, where their discovery and networking opportunities will be expanded."

Food Vision Asia is held annually and complements the Food Vision global event, held annually in Europe, and Food Vision USA. The Food Vision events programme is managed and delivered by William Reed, publishers of FoodNavigator.com and NutraIngedients.com on three continents.
